Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular California Shoreline
A helicopter flying over a crowded southern California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, finally dropping height and smashing into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Videos uploaded online capture the chopper commencing to spiral above the shoreline then descending near the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palms and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on that day.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
