Explore 29 Fresh Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or yet another crossover marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful context. All items mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into all the various special decks and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can play big creatures onto the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (It counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer explained. “However on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to ensure the new cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets would be near it in standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander depending on how you pair them (five cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is offering a bundle. It costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (for building your draft deck)
  • 10 Non-foil token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
