Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities verified that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services handled over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
