One two-month cruise circling the Australian Coast is being halted in the wake of the tragic passing of an older female passenger who was stranded by the ship on a isolated island.

The elderly woman had been hiking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but separated from the excursion for a rest. The vessel left without her and went back after some time after the ship staff became aware the passenger was missing.

A large-scale rescue mission found her remains the subsequent day.
